Meeting with JICA
On December 1, 2024, the team of SE «National Institute for Development Infrastructure» met with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which began its week-long mission in Ukraine.
JICA is a governmental organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan that provides technical assistance, grants, and concessional loans to various countries, including Ukraine, with the aim of infrastructure recovery and development.
During the meeting, the main areas of activity and the role of the Institute in reconstruction processes were presented. Our mission is very important: to support the implementation of new materials and technologies in the recovery and development of infrastructure.
The Japanese colleagues were introduced to the laboratory facilities of SE «NIDI», and discussions were held regarding the Institute’s needs for modern equipment for bridge and road inspections and asset inventory. During the war period alone, our team has inspected 325 bridges, which accounts for one third of all inspected bridges.
The contribution of the Japan International Cooperation Agency to infrastructure development and recovery is invaluable. Cooperation between SE «NIDI» and JICA has strategic importance, and the first joint projects are expected very soon.
