Training on Pricing

From October 29 to 31, 2024, the team of SE «National Institute for Development Infrastructure» successfully held the first training workshop “Pricing in Construction: Innovations and Practical Cases”!

The event brought together cost estimation specialists from all over Ukraine. The audience of around 200 participants was evenly divided between in-person attendees and colleagues who joined us via Zoom. In addition to specialists from the regional Recovery Services, the event also included representatives of local road asset holders, contractors, designers, and engineer-consultants.

Main topics of the training:

– features of pricing in construction and operation of various types of facilities under Ukrainian cost estimating standards (KNU);
– updates to the rules and methodology for determining the cost of road works and services;
– key aspects of monitoring prices for material, technical, and labor resources;
– important aspects of using CESMM;
– updates in Ukrainian resource element cost estimating norms;
– features of “design–build” contracts;
– methodological approaches to determining the cost of design works.

Importantly, this time we moved away from the standard seminar format and focused on working with practical cases. For this purpose, our speakers prepared dozens of real examples, presented logical approaches to solving complex issues, and also organized interactive online polls.

We thank the outstanding speakers for their informative presentations, and all participants of the training for their support, interesting questions, and proposals for improving the construction pricing system.
