Seminar on Road Maintenance

From March 26 to 27, 2024, SE «National Institute for Development Infrastructure», together with the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, held a scientific and practical seminar “Modern Approaches and Practices in Road Maintenance”.

The seminar achieved the following key results:

– brought together more than 350 participants from all regions of Ukraine;
– involved a strong international team from Lithuania, Spain, Germany, and the Czech Republic, which presented practical experience in road maintenance from different countries;
– united all road asset managers of public roads (state and local importance, as well as streets and roads in settlements) within a single event;
– created more than 14 hours of unique professional content for publication on our YouTube channel.

The seminar focused on a wide range of issues related to road maintenance, including pricing, procurement, new materials and technologies, regulatory framework, bridge maintenance, road safety, work organization, digitalization, and international best practices.

Improving the competence and knowledge of road professionals is critically important for the effective organization of maintenance works ensuring continuous and safe traffic flow under conditions of limited funding.

As a result of the seminar, a number of proposals and recommendations were developed to improve approaches to road maintenance.
