ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT VICTORY
Best greetings for all with the 75-th Anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in World War II 1939-1945!
Thanks to the feat of our heroes, we have the opportunity to live today, and therefore we must always remember their heroism, courage and colossal efforts made during the terrible years of the war for winning of the Great Victory.
There is a good tradition in our team - on the eve of Victory Day we always arrange visits and congratulations of our war veterans - former employees of the Institute - with the Victory Day. Unfortunately, there are only four o them left alive.
We want to talk about each of them.
Volodymyr ALIEIEV (94), combatant, veteran of war.
He fought in the Soviet Army from 1943 to 1945. Participant of the battles for the liberation of Manchuria from Japanese invaders.
In 1956 he had graduated from the Kyiv Civil Engineering and Construction Institute. He distantly graduated from the Moscow Institute of Patent Studies in 1976.
From 1971 to 1985 he worked at the Enterprise, the successor of which later became “GosdorNDI” SE- "Ukrdortekhnologiya" State Enterprise, as a Chief specialist of the Technical Department, Patent and licensing department, Metrology and standardization department, Design and technology department. He has a number of copyright certificates for inventions, innovation proposals, scientific papers.
Thanks to him, the company created and successfully operated by the normative control service, developed technical conditions for road construction materials, regulations of the quality control department of Ministry of Road Construction (MRC), published collections of inventions implemented in MRC of USSR.
Vasyl VOLODKO (95), veteran of war, PhD, Senior Researcher.
A living legend of road sciences during the Soviet Union period.
During the Great War, in 1943 he was sent to Nazi Germany for forced labor in the Saar mines, and then got into the Dachau concentration camp. In 1945 he was released and returned home. 7 years later he was graduated from Lviv Polytechnical Institute.
After the end of war he worked as the Head of production and technical department, Chief engineer. In 1959 he was graduated from the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, worked in the Kazakh branch of SoyuzdorNDI. In 1964 he defended his obtained the degree of cPhD in Technical sciences. The results of his dissertation had practical application in the construction of virgin lands.
From 1968 to 1999 he worked in “DerzhdorNDI” SE as a Senior Researcher, Head of the laboratory, Head of the department of road construction from industrial wastes, a Leading researcher. He has a number of inventions, numerous scientific works.
One of the main achievements of V. Volodko is the solution of the problem of industrial wastes use in road construction. According to his developments, large amounts of industrial wastes were used, in particular, removal of ash from heat energy stations, metallurgical slag, wastes from cement production and the coal industry.
Vasyl Volodko was a pioneer in the development and use of tar and other coal binders modified by polymers in road construction practice. Under his leadership and direct participation, the cement-organic mineral mixtures were developed, which are still used today.
At that times the activity of the Department under the leadership of V. Volodko was repeatedly awarded by diplomas and medals during the Exhibitions of Economic Achievements.
Liya KOVALEVYCH (87), veteran of war, PhD, Senior Researcher.
In 1942, together with her mother at the age of 10, she was forcibly deported to Nazi Germany, from where she returned to Kyiv only in 1945. She graduated from the school and later from the Kyiv Automobile and Road Institute (KADI) in 1957.
During her career she went through all the stages - at first she worked as a foreman on the line, an engineer of the production and technical department, a group engineer, a senior engineer. In 1970, after postgraduate studies she defended her dissertation and obtained the degree of candidate of technical sciences.
From 1969 to 1985 she worked in “DerzhdorNDI”SE. She stepped up in a big scientific way from a junior researcher to the scientific secretary.
In science she studied the properties of cold bitumen-mineral mixtures, the use of bitumen emulsions, improving the properties of binders and bitumen-mineral materials for road construction. During the whole period of her work she took an active part in the public life of the Institute. He has a number of scientific works.
Olha LINS’KA (84), veteran of war, veteran of Labor Front.
During the war, she and her parents were on the territory occupied by German invaders.
In 1968 she graduated from the Kharkiv State Institute of Culture. In 1973 she graduated in absentia from the Kyiv Public Institute of Patent Studies.
From 1977 to 1990 together with V. ALIEIEV worked in "Ukrdortekhnologiya" State Enterprise as an engineer, senior engineer, head of the group in the department of scientific and technical information.
Thanks to her, the patent fund of the road industry was gathered and filled, a reference and search apparatus for the patent fund was created.
