UPDATED BUILDING CODES

On 1 September 2022, the team of SE "DerzhdorNDI" held a public presentation of innovations regarding the requirements for the design and construction of streets and roads in settlements as part of another episode of the Road Innovation Platform via Zoom.

These innovations are presented in Amendment No. 1 to DBN V.2.3-5, which enters into force on 1 September 2022 in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine dated 30.12.2021 No. 367 “On Approval of State Building Norms”.

The document provides for a number of innovations:

  • introduction of new terms and definitions such as street capital repair, street reconstruction, pedestrian sidewalk zone, side road, central dividing strip, etc.;
  • a new classification of streets according to their function (distinguishing highways, main streets, and local streets and roads; optimizing indicators of their main elements and parameters);
  • updated requirements for design loads on pavement structures, taking into account the specifics of movement and operation of fire vehicles;
  • definition of types of possible use of paving materials according to established pavement types;
  • requirements for safety, planning, and design of bicycle infrastructure elements, as well as ensuring accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
