SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COUNCIL
Today, in the framework of the regular meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of DerzhdorNDI SE, the results of research work were considered:
1. Study of asphalt concrete fatigue;
2. Methodical documents for the implementation of OPRC contracts.
During performing these works, the best European experience is taken into account.
The Department of Bituminous Binders and Asphalt Concretes presented the results of the study of asphalt concrete fatigue by the method of determining the resistance at four-point bending at different temperatures.
Carrying out of tests with observance of requirements of DSTU EN 12697-24 gives the chance to recommend a technique of determining the fatigue resistance of asphalt concrete by:
- the number of load cycles before failure;
- the magnitude of the destructive load;
- fatigue rate.
Conducted study of fundamental indicators and test methods opens a real window to Europe, as the results of the work identified a clear mechanism for harmonizing European requirements with the requirements of national standards, especially at a temperature of 0 degrees Celsius. This temperature mode is characterized by displaying the main defects and shortcomings of the road pavement, and therefore predicting the behavior of materials provides additional advantages during designing pavement structures.

In the current conditions of road network reconstruction, when the rate of work performance on highways in the framework of the national program "Big Construction" implementation reaches a qualitatively new level, the issue of proper operational maintenance of these roads is no less important.
That is why the Department of Economic Research and Determination of the Road Work Costs of the DerzhdorNDI SE developed and presented "Guidelines for the implementation of long-term contracts" and "Guidelines for determining the predicted scope of operational maintenance works of public roads during implementation of long-term contracts" which allow :
- reliably determine the scope of work for a long-term contract;
- to format the expected cost of works objectively;
- ensure the correctness of the type contract designing.
As the current Soviet system of estimated pricing does not allow the introduction of modern materials and diagnostic technologies, does not provide a clear division of responsibilities of the Customer and the Contractor by the final result - comfortable travel on a quality road. Experts of DerzhdorNDI SE believe that large-scale implementation of long-term operational maintenance contracts is one of the main factors to ensure the proper level of operational maintenance and will give a serious impulse to the development of the road industry of Ukraine
Prompt and high-quality R&D worksperformance is one of the important tasks of our Institute. According to the results of voting by the members of the Council, the above works were unanimously approved and recommended for further approval and transfer to the Customer.
