BRIDGE CONFERENCE named after P.M. Koval
On 7–9 December 2022, the team of SE "DerzhdorNDI" held the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference named after P.M. Koval “Current Issues of Bridge Management and Ways to Improve It”, which took place in a hybrid format (online and in person) in Lviv.
Based on the presentations of experts from Ukraine, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Austria, proposals were prepared for public authorities and bridge asset managers:
- to ensure the updating and development of proposals to key State Building Codes (DBN) related to bridges, taking into account modern challenges in the road sector;
- to conduct timely inspections of bridges with the subsequent entry of results into AESUM;
- to ensure the conduct of special inspections of damaged and destroyed bridges;
- to provide for scientific and technical support aimed at implementing modern international practices and addressing non-standard issues, especially for damaged bridges;
- to develop requirements for conducting technical inventory of bridges;
- to establish an expert council of specialists to review and develop solutions to problematic issues in the bridge sector;
- to ensure the organization of professional training for bridge sector workers, in particular regarding bridge testing.
