YOUTH – DRIVERS OF THE COUNTRY’S RECOVERY

On 20 May 2022, the First All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of Young Researchers in the road sector, “Youth – Drivers of the Country’s Recovery,” took place at SE “DerzhdorNDI”. It was organized jointly with the National Transport University and Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University.

13 young researchers from SE “DerzhdorNDI”, NTU, KhNADU, and Odesa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture presented their developments and scientific achievements to key industry stakeholders, with more than 100 participants, in the following sections:

  • MODERN MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES
  • BRIDGES
  • INSPECTION AND TESTING
  • ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION

At the end of the conference, each participant voted for the best presentations, and the following winners were selected:

1st place – Mariia SEMKO, who presented on the impact of road marking inserts on road safety.

2nd place – Serhii ZAVHORODNII, who presented features of bridge operation with string-reinforced concrete beams.

3rd place – Oleksii SOKOLOV, who reported on the pilot implementation of asphalt mixtures with fly ash.

In this extremely difficult time, it is very important to support young researchers, give them the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, and apply their work in practice.

During the discussion, new research directions were outlined both for the young researchers themselves and for the country’s road sector.

We are confident that this valuable experience will enable our hardworking youth to unlock their potential for the large-scale recovery and reconstruction of road infrastructure.
