On 15–17 September 2021, in Zaporizhzhia, the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference named after P.M. Koval “Current issues of bridge infrastructure management and ways to improve it” was launched, organized by Ukravtodor jointly with SE “DerzhdorNDI”.

More than 200 bridge specialists are participating in the event both in person and remotely: representatives of regional road services, regional state administrations, local road services, contracting, design, and expert organizations.

The conference is named after a true legend of bridge science — Petro Mykolayovych Koval, who unfortunately passed away on 05 May 2020. Details about the life path of P.M. Koval are available here:

During the three days of the event, a wide range of issues will be considered:

  • current issues of regulatory and legal support and technical regulation of bridge infrastructure;
  • design of bridges, pipes, and other transport structures;
  • inspection and testing of transport structures;
  • modern technologies for the repair and construction of transport structures;
  • latest materials for waterproofing, restoration, and repair of road bridges.

As part of the conference, a field visit to the highway bridge over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia is planned.
