DSTU requirements for traffic lights
On 9 September 2022, the team of SE "DerzhdorNDI" held a public presentation of the second draft version of DSTU 4092:202X “Road safety. Traffic lights. General technical requirements. Rules of application” within another episode of the Road Innovation Platform via Zoom.
The following innovations are provided by this DSTU, in particular:
- ensuring terminological compatibility with other applicable regulatory documents;
- alignment of the provisions and requirements of the DSTU with other legal acts, building codes, and regulatory documents;
- consideration of European and global experience in the arrangement of traffic signal installations;
- introduction of a new type of traffic lights for regulating bicycle traffic, including for bicycle crossings;
- establishment of requirements for traffic signal control parameters that significantly affect road safety at intersections;
- possibility of synchronizing traffic signal installations with road marking inserts.
