OPENING OF RECONSTRUCTED LAB OF OUR INSTITUTE

Today Artem Bezuglyi, Director of “DerzhdorNDI” SE together with leading specialists of our institute opened an updated laboratory of bituminous binders and asphalt concrete which is fully equipped with modern equipment, that gives an opportunity for a full range of laboratory testing of road construction materials and asphalt concrete as a whole, in particular:

• - certification testing of road bituminous emulsions;

• - testing of modifying additives for bitumen and asphalt concrete;

• - determination of technological temperatures of production and compaction of asphalt mixtures;

• - determination of penetration, softening temperature, elongation at 25 and 0°C, elasticity, brittleness and adhesion temperature;

• - determination of binder cohesion;

• - determination of bitumen resistance to the process temperatures by RTFOT method;

• - determination of asphalt concrete mixture composition by extraction method;

• - determination of asphalt compressive strength at temperatures 0, 20 and 50°C

• - determination of water saturation, average and actual density;

• - determination of residual porosity;

• - selection of asphalt mix composition;

• - aggregates testing;

• - determination of adhesion, adhesive ability of cold asphalt concrete mixture;

• - determination of the coefficient of compaction of asphalt;

• - other.
