TRAFFIC SAFETY WEEK
Today we summarize the results of traffic safety week in Ukraine. Our team considers the improving of traffic safety as a key priority in our work.
Our results in regulatory support are following:
• Amendment No. 2 to DBN B.2.3-4: 2015 for the designing and construction of roads, approved by the Ministry of Regional Development and will come into force from 01.02.2022;
• At the final stage of approval of Amendment No. 1 to DBN B.2.3-5: 2018 for the designing and construction of streets and roads in settlements;
• New DSTU 4100 on technical requirements for road signs that came into force from 01.11.2021;
• New DSTU 2587 on technical requirements for road markings that came into force from 01.08.2021;
• New DSTU 4036 on road marking studs that came into force from 01.08.2021.
The new norms and standards collected the best world experience, confirmed by extensive analysis and researches of our experts. In order to make technical decisions for the improving of traffic safety, it is important to have up-to-date information on the current state of road situation, confirmed by instrumental researches.
Only in 2021 our specialists examined the following:
• over 350 road signs;
• over 1000 km of road marking lines;
• over 580 dangerous stretches on the roads;
• over 45 black spots on the roads.
Also our specialists perform field inspections and provide practical recommendations for improving of traffic safety during the black spots monitoring. This year we have performed more than 5 thousand measures, as the result - the number of black spots has decreased by 80% !!!
Also we are actively involved in educational activities: this year we had lectures on traffic safety for the students of National Transport University and students of Pukhiv Secondary School.
