SUSTAINABLE ROADS
From October 15 to 16 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, the team of the State Enterprise “National Institute for Infrastructure Development”, with the support of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the Association of Cement Producers “Ukrcement”, held a scientific and practical seminar on the topic:
“Sustainable Roads: Localization and the European Vector.”
The event gathered over 100 professionals representing regional Restoration Services, local road authorities, local self-government bodies, as well as contracting, design, expert, and engineering companies from all regions of Ukraine.
The main topics of the seminar included:

Innovative materials, technologies, and design solutions in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads;

Prospects for using local materials and industrial or demolition waste in road construction, maintenance, and repair;

The regulatory framework for road construction, maintenance, and repair (building codes and standards);

Implementation of EU Regulation No. 305/2011 in Ukraine;
-
Modern design solutions for roads with heavy traffic (logistics centers, access roads to them, ports, elevators, etc.): innovations and prospects;

Pricing in road construction and material cost monitoring;
-
Quality control in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads;
-
Modern digital solutions in road construction, maintenance, and repair.
During the discussions, the participants emphasized the importance of increasing the level of localization in road construction, particularly through the development of cement concrete roads. It was also noted that for reliable cost estimation, it is crucial to create a Database of construction material prices and a Classifier of construction products based on European standards.
