COOPERATION WITH PIARC
The team of SE "National Institute for Infrastructure Development" actively engages in international cooperation within the framework of PIARC Technical Committees.
Background: PIARC, or the World Road Association, is a global organization that unites road (transport) infrastructure leadership from 125 countries worldwide. The primary goal of PIARC is to facilitate knowledge exchange and experience sharing in road development, shape global policies and trends, and serve as a key platform for analyzing and discussing various road and transport-related issues.
During one of the recent Technical Committee meetings, a proposal was made to organize a scientific-practical seminar in Mexico on financing and prioritization issues. As a scientific leader in the road industry, SE "National Institute for Infrastructure Development" proposed the title "Roads = A Catalyst for Sustainable and Inclusive Development," which was unanimously supported by committee members.
Currently, experts from SE "National Institute for Infrastructure Development" are preparing two presentations for the seminar:
- Basic technical and economic criteria for prioritizing road projects
- Road safety index as a foundation for prioritizing road projects
The abstracts for these presentations have been approved by the relevant PIARC Technical Committee for presentation at the event.
Additionally, during other PIARC Technical Committee meetings, discussions covered interesting technical solutions from different countries regarding road safety, particularly for left-turn traffic flows, cyclists, and improving drivers' visibility zones.
Notably, PIARC's specialized Technical Committees are currently conducting industry surveys in various fields, such as road infrastructure and transport planning for economic and social security, road safety, winter maintenance, asset management, bridges, and highway design.
We continue our work on the international stage to integrate global best practices into our regulatory framework!
