WORKSHOP ON DESIGNING-DAY1

“Topical issues of public roads designing” scientific and practical workshop, organized by Ukravtodor, “DerzhdorNDI” SE , Ukrdiprodor and “Ukrainian Association of Designing Organizations” with the support of Road Service in Cherkasy Region started today in Cherkasy, Ukraine.

The event is attended by more than 200 specialists, customers, designers, scientists, experts and suppliers of materials, who were able to join in person and online.

The opening of the scientific and practical workshop was attended by Andrii Ivko, Deputy Chairman of the State Road Agency of Ukraine, who noted that the road industry is on the way to the international level of quality of work; automation of the road designing process is not just a prospective, but our main task today.

Among the main issues considered today at the event were the following:

• updated construction norms for road designing and construction;

• new standards for markings and road signs;

• road safety audit;

• main problems and shortcomings in the designing;

• innovations in construction pricing and determination of designing works cost;

• modern information technologies in designing.

 

To obtain high-quality designing documentation, a set of following measures is required:

 

• modern European regulatory framework;

• application of clear qualification requirements and non-price criteria for the selection of designers;

• responsible work of certified specialists;

• improving approaches for determination designing works cost;

• advanced training of responsible specialists.

 

Tomorrow we will consider topical issues in the provision of engineering and maintenance services, ecology and capabilities of modern materials and technologies.
