SAFETY WORKSHOP

On April 25, the specialists of the State Enterprise “National Institute of Infrastructure Development” presented their achievements and experience at the online seminar on the procedures for identifying the places of road accidents concentration and developing measures for their elimination, organized by the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

The event was attended by more than 150 participants, including representatives of the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the Municipal Enterprise “Center for Traffic Organization”, balance holders of local roads and streets and roads in settlements, as well as local territorial communities.

During the workshop, the following issues were discussed
- regulatory and legal support for the process of identifying places of concentration of road accidents and practical ways to implement it;
- the mandatory conduct of unscheduled safety inspections of such areas of road traffic concentration;
- the problems of identifying places (areas) of road accident concentration in settlements, in particular in cities with a population of over a million people, where there is a significant intensity of traffic;
- practical experience of the cities of Lviv and Vinnytsia in implementing measures to improve traffic safety in places (areas) of concentration of road accidents, which contributed to reducing the accident rate and those that did not have a positive effect on traffic safety.

Timely detection of places (areas) of road accidents concentration contributes to improving road safety, as such places (areas) are primarily used to implement measures to improve road conditions.

NIDI SE team is actively working on improving the regulatory framework of Ukraine, in particular, regarding road safety (DSTU on road signs, road markings and traffic lights, etc.) taking into account the best international practices, has its certified specialists to conduct audit and inspection of road safety, thereby contributing to the improvement of road safety in every possible way.
