CEMENT CONCRETE ROADS WORKSHOP

“Actual issues of construction and maintenance of cement-concrete roads” scientific and practical workshop organized by Ukravtodor, “DerzhdorNDI” SE and “Ukrcement” Association of Cement Producers, starts its work in Mykolaiv today.

The event was attended by more than 100 specialists in construction, repairing and maintenance of cement concrete pavement from all over Ukraine, who presented both from the workshop venue and in an online mode.

The topic of cement-concrete roads is very relevant, especially in the South of Ukraine, where the heavy vehicles traffic is very intensive.

Why is the issue of cement concrete roads construction becomes more and more relevant in Ukraine? :

• Shortage of quality bitumen of domestic production;

• Constant rise of bitumen prices and high import dependence;

• Less dependence of roads with cement-concrete pavement from climatic conditions;

• Longer inter-repair period for roads with cement-concrete pavement;

• High level of localization - the presence of production capacities of domestic cement.

During two days, the participants of the workshop will have the opportunity to get acquainted with current developments in regulatory support, the latest researches, modern designing solutions regarding new materials and technologies on road construction objects with cement-concrete pavement. In addition, a visit to the H-14 road section will be arranged, where cement-concrete pavement works are being actively performed.
