DEICING MATERIALS

Due to the war started by russian federation, the production and logistics of materials important for the road sector are currently under great threat. These concerned deicing materials, including an acute shortage of technical salt, which, like food salt, is produced by “Artemsil” Enterprise, which has been forced now to suspend production on indefinite term.

“DerzhdorNDI” SE team has started work on finding solutions and materials for use in winter maintenance of roads.

We invite all stakeholders to participate in solving of this problem by providing information about the arrangement, materials that can be used to eliminate winter slipperiness or prevent its formation, natural deposits of alternative deicing materials, etc. in the form by the link - https://forms.gle/xE22wVDWodLPqgM96

The information has to be presented in following areas:

 

- deicing melting materials (natural salt deposits, industrial wastes, etc.);

- materials that absorb moisture and prevent the ice formation (eg. zeolites);

- water-repellent materials (used for preventive treatment - preventing the adhesion of ice to the pavement surface).

 

In the future, we will contact the organizations that presented interesting and technically sound information, select and perform appropriate laboratory tests of the proposed materials for determination of their compliance with physical and mechanical characteristics to regulatory requirements and develop general proposals for Ukravtodor.
