ROAD INSPECTION IN LVIV REGION
Specialists of the Road Safety Department of "DerzhdorNDI" State Enterprise together with representatives of the Road Service of Lviv region of Ukraine and representatives of National Police executed an inspection of accidentally dangerous areas and the black spots on the roads of state importance in Lviv region.
In the inspected areas, where need, it was recommended to equip pedestrian crossings in accordance with the State Program for Improvement of Traffic Safety in Ukraine till 2020, namely: mark the pedestrian crossing with red and white markings using persistent marking materials, replacing road signs on identical with yellow edge or with backlighting or with signal lamps, providing contrast lighting directly over the pedestrian crossing and others.
At the crossroads with black spots the arrangement of traffic roundabouts (both on the stage of project development as well as on the stage of construction) continues for elimination the number black spots and traffic redistribution. Using the traffic roundabouts it could be reduced the number of traffic accidents and avoided traffic jams during heavy traffic.
Annual inspections of accidentally dangerous areas and black spots have positive results, but in several cases even properly chosen measures can’t save the life of road users. Unfortunately the vulnerable road users neglect the Traffic Rules very often. Misunderstanding of the importance to of adhere the rules of behavior on the road leads to tragic consequences often.
Specialists of “DerzhdorNDI” SE Traffic Safety Department make maximum efforts to identify such dangerous areas and professionally recommend measures for accident reduction and protection the life and health of all road users.
