CONFERENCE ON BRIDGES
On December 10-12, 2025, in the village of Slavsko (Lviv region), the team of the State Enterprise "National Institute for Development Infrastructure" with the support of the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in the Lviv region, and the Slavsko Village Council held the V (Fifth) International Scientific and Practical Conference named after P.M. Koval "Restoration and Development of Bridges: Challenges, Trends, Innovations"
The event was attended by about 200 specialists from regional restoration services, regional military administrations, local road balance holders, local self-government bodies, contracting, design, expert, and engineering companies, suppliers of new materials and technologies from all regions of Ukraine.
The development and restoration of bridges in a state of martial law is vitally important. After all, it is bridges that ensure the security, defense capability, economic stability, and territorial unity of our country.
Among the main topics of the event were:
- the latest materials and technologies for the restoration and development of bridges;
- innovations in the regulatory framework for the design, operation, and testing of transport structures;
- approaches to determining the cost of bridge construction;
- methods and modern technologies for assessing the condition of bridges, in particular in real time;
- the capabilities of information, analytical, and expert systems in the field of bridges.
During the discussion, conference participants emphasized the importance of implementing the following measures:
- legally protecting expenditures for the development and maintenance of bridge structures;
- ensuring the timely inspection and certification of bridges, with the subsequent mandatory entry of information into the AESUM software complex;
- promote the introduction of automated systems for monitoring the technical condition of bridges;
- ensure scientific and technical support at the design and construction stage in order to introduce modern international practices and resolve atypical issues, especially on bridges damaged by explosive loads;
- apply modern information tools in planning the development and maintenance of transport structures;
- improve the level of competence of specialists involved in the development and maintenance of bridge infrastructure, in particular by organizing specialized training on bridge testing and determining their load-bearing capacity.
