UNECE WP.5 (Working Party on Transport Trends and Economics)
The Director of the State Enterprise “National Institute for Development Infrastructure”, Artem Bezuhlyi, took part in the 40th session of the Group of Experts on the European Agreement concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles Engaged in International Road Transport, as well as in the 88th session of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
Once again, with the support of European partners, the Ukrainian side blocked all attempts by the Russian aggressor to introduce amendments to the European Agreement concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles Engaged in International Road Transport and to the decisions of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee that would have enabled the Russian Federation to bypass sanctions restrictions. Under these sanctions, Russian carriers are not allowed to carry out international road transport in many countries due to the absence of special driver cards for tachographs.
In the focus of transport policies in many countries around the world is the trend toward the active use of artificial intelligence and the development of safe, flexible, and resilient road infrastructure adapted to the needs of automated road transport.
It is also important that the Ukrainian representative, Roman Symonenko, Acting Deputy Director for Quality of the State Enterprise “State Road Transport Research Institute”, was re-elected as a member of the Bureau of the UNECE Inland Transport Committee.
We continue working to ensure that Ukraine’s road infrastructure meets the best international standards, is safe, innovative, and ready for future challenges.
