Cost estimating and pricing in the road sector
On 10–11 December 2019, a scientific and practical seminar “Cost estimating and pricing in the road sector” was held in Lviv.
During the seminar, presentations were delivered across various sections: design and review of design documentation for road construction, road development strategy, current issues in determining the cost of road works, and modern information support.
At the end of the seminar, all participants were traditionally awarded certificates of professional development.
However, a real gift for all cost estimators was the approval by the Committee on Economic Development of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, both in principle and as a whole, of draft law No. 2234 dated 07.10.2019 on defining responsibility for the formation of the pricing system in public road construction. It is now expected to be positively voted on at the plenary session. This opens the opportunity for the road sector to approve the long-awaited new Methodology for determining the cost of road works.
