The number of Black Spots in Ukraine as of 01/01/2019

According to the results of inspections executed by the specialists of Traffic Safety Department of «DerzhdorNDI» SE during 2018 in Ukraine, as for 01.01.2019 there are 78 black spots on the public roads of  state importance that is on 17.9% (on 17 areas ) less in comparison with the number of black spots as for 01.01.2018

Among the regions, the majority of black spots are located in Rivne, Odesa, Lviv and Ternopil regions (Fig. 1).

 

65.4% of black spots areas are located on the international highways of their total number on the roads of state importance (Fig. 2).

Decreasing the number of black spots depends directly on the correct measures for improving the road conditions and increasing the overall level of traffic safety. 9% (by 17 black spots) is less as compared with the number of black spots as of 01.01.2018.
