CONSULTING ENGINEER (CONSTRUCTION)

Last week, the State Enterprise "National Institute for Infrastructure Development" conducted a special training course for consulting engineers in the construction sector for the first time.

The role of a consulting engineer in the construction process is crucial, as they act as an expert advising the client on project implementation, selecting suppliers and contractors, and managing the construction process.

The Institute's team has previously organized training courses in various fields, but only in the area of road infrastructure. Therefore, launching a course for the entire construction sector was a real challenge.

We successfully gathered 20 highly qualified and exceptionally talented participants from different regions of Ukraine, who completed 45 hours of lectures and practical sessions over a week. The course covered various topics, including:

  • The role and functions of a consulting engineer in construction;
  • Regulatory and technical framework for construction;
  • Development and expert evaluation of design documentation;
  • Requirements for construction products in the market, certification of products and personnel;
  • Pricing principles in construction;
  • Public procurement fundamentals and specific practices;
  • Technical supervision and quality control;
  • Scientific and technical support at different stages of construction;
  • Digital transformation, transport modeling, and modern information tools, including price monitoring for construction resources and the EDESSB portal (Unified State Electronic System in the Construction Sector Portal);
  • International best practices (FIDIC, CESMM);
  • Risk management and pre-litigation dispute resolution.

The development of a training center at the "National Institute for Infrastructure Development" will enhance competition in the market for training consulting engineers and other responsible professionals in the construction sector.

We wish all participants success in obtaining certification as consulting engineers (construction) from the Personnel Certification Body of the SE "NIIDI," accredited by NAAU.
