FORUM IN POLAND
On 23–25 March, representatives of the SE "National Institute for Development Infrastructure" — Deputy Director Bohdan Stasiuk and Head of the Center for Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Research Serhii Illiash — took part in the 5th “Asphalt Days” Forum in Ostróda (Poland), one of the key events in the road construction sector.
The forum gathered more than 250 experts, including representatives of research institutions, government bodies, contractors, and material manufacturers.
The Ukrainian delegation presented:
- the current state of the road sector during wartime
- key challenges and solutions
- the implementation of modern standards and European approaches
A telling comparison: In 2026, Poland plans to allocate around UAH 125 billion only for voivodeship roads — 10–12 times more than the total funding for public roads in Ukraine.
At the same time, in Poland:
- project design may take several years
- more than 1,000 projects are implemented simultaneously
- there is a clear and balanced investment structure: 80% for reconstruction and new construction, about 10% for repairs, and 10% for road network maintenance
Despite wartime challenges, Ukraine’s road sector continues to operate.
This is why international support, knowledge exchange, and joint solutions are especially important today.
Ukraine is steadily moving toward European integration, adopting modern technologies, and building transparent rules that will form the foundation for large‑scale reconstruction.
