CONCRETE ROADS
On February 11, the team of the SE “National Institute for Development Infrastructure” with the support of the State Agency for Restoration and Development Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ukrcement Association, held a scientific and practical seminar in Kyiv entitled “Cement Concrete Roads: Technologies, Standards, Prospects.”
The event was attended by 250 participants from different regions of Ukraine, including representatives of regional restoration services, regional military administrations, local road balance holders, local self-government bodies, contracting, design, expert, and engineering companies, as well as suppliers of modern materials and technologies from various regions of Ukraine.
Unfortunately, there is sometimes a prevailing opinion in society that the issue of road development is “not relevant” during martial law. However, in reality, motorways are a critically important component of national resilience, ensuring uninterrupted logistics, the functioning of the economy, and connections between communities and regions.
During the event, participants discussed how to make roads durable, reliable, and safe. Can cement concrete roads be a systemic response to these challenges?
The participants of the scientific and practical seminar unanimously concluded that the development of cement concrete roads is a strategic choice in favor of durability and localization.
