SIDE VISIBILITY

“DerzhdorNDI” SE prepared the proposal to increase the distance of side visibility during the design of the intersections in the project Amendments No.1 to DBN “Streets and Roads of Settlements”.  

The mentioned proposal submitted on the basis of:

  • studied experience of European design;
  • proposals that submitted already from indifferent Ukrainian specialists.

Side visibility distance and estimated speed of drive are the basis for further design of the main geometrical parameters of the street.

Increasing of side visibility, first of all, has to improve traffic safety. With a larger visibility triangle, the driver will have more time to react and maneuvering in the emergency.

 

Expressed in figures, the visibility ensuring line by designed speed is following:

  • less than 50 km / h - will remain unchanged;
  • 50 km / h - will be increased on 10m up to 70m;
  • 80 km / h - will be increased on 40m up to 140m.

“DerzhdorNDI” SE specialists continue to study and implement the European experience for creation of safe conditions for all road traffic participants.
