SAFE ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE
Today, as part of the All-Ukrainian Road Safety Week, the team of the State Enterprise National Institute for Infrastructure Development with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrtransbezpeka, the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine - AsMAP of Ukraine and many others held a webinar "SAFE ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE: Challenges and Prospects".
The event brought together road carriers as users of road infrastructure and road balance holders, who share one common goal - to improve road safety on the roads.
To do this, it is important to build road safety management systems in transport companies in accordance with the requirements of international standards, in particular DSTU ISO 39001:2015 "Road Safety Management System. Requirements and guidance for use" (ISO 39001:2012, IDT), accelerate the introduction of smart tachographs for trucks, introduce audit and inspection of road safety, develop solutions for the construction of rest areas for carriers, improve the regulatory framework for road safety, and create modern technical solutions for safe traffic management.
The team of SE "NIDI", in turn, is actively working on improving the regulatory framework of Ukraine, in particular, regarding road safety (DSTU on road signs, road markings and traffic lights, etc.), taking into account the best international practices, has its own certified specialists to conduct audits and inspections of road safety, thereby contributing in every possible way to improving road safety, as well as developing proposals for the methodology for calculating socio-economic losses from road accidents and improving the principles of prioritization of road safety measures.
We are sincerely grateful to all participants for their active and fruitful work, and to our speakers for their interesting practical reports, and we are working to replenish the knowledge hub for interested professionals.
